Managed cloud infrastructure, from someone who runs his own
The servers and services your software runs on, managed by an engineer who has kept client infrastructure running since 2018 and ships his own products without downtime.
Nobody looks at the servers, until it goes wrong
In many smaller companies the hosting was once set up by the previous developer, a nephew who knew about these things, or whatever the internet provider bundled. It runs, so nobody looks at it. Until an update takes the site down, a certificate expires, or an invoice arrives for capacity nobody uses.
The real risk is invisible: backups that were never tested, no monitoring that warns anyone, and nobody who can say what exactly is running.
What we do
We take over the management of your cloud infrastructure: servers, hosting, domains, e-mail, updates, backups and monitoring. Set up so a release is routine rather than an event, and so you can see everything is healthy without asking.
This is not a side service for us. We run our own products, TenderScan.nl and Supertaak, on infrastructure we manage ourselves, with zero-downtime releases. And since 2018 we have managed the full infrastructure of our first client, hosting and e-mail, eight years without interruption. Your environment gets the same discipline.
We favour open source, and before adopting anything else we ask how hard it would be to leave later. Migrations, cost reduction and security hardening are part of the work.
What a project looks like
- Inventory. What runs, where, and what is critical. Often this is the first time it is all written down in one place.
- Plan and takeover. What we fix immediately, what can stay, and what it costs per month. Then we take over management step by step.
- Getting it sound. Backups that demonstrably work, monitoring that warns, updates that are kept up.
- Ongoing management. We keep it running and report what matters, in language you can use. You run your business.
We work from Ede, the Netherlands, and manage environments for clients at home and abroad.
What it costs
As an indication: ongoing management starts at €75 per month, depending on what runs and how critical it is. One-off work, such as a migration or a security round, is quoted up front as a scoped project. The management regularly pays part of its own way because we clear out capacity nobody uses.
Frequently asked questions
What does managed cloud infrastructure cost?
As an indication: ongoing management starts at €75 per month, depending on what runs and how critical it is. One-off work, a migration, a clean-up, a security round, is quoted up front as a scoped project. Management often partly pays for itself because we cut the hosting bill.
Which companies is outsourced cloud management for?
Small and medium businesses whose software or website is business-critical, but who have no system administrator or platform team of their own. You get one party that knows, watches and maintains the infrastructure, without the cost of a hire.
Can you take over our existing hosting?
Yes. We start with an inventory of what runs, write down what we find, and then take over management step by step. Moving is not always necessary; sometimes the environment is fine and only the management is missing.
How fast are you there when something breaks?
Monitoring usually alerts us before you notice anything. We agree up front what is critical and what can wait, and put those agreements in writing. In fairness: we are a small firm, so we do not promise a staffed control room. We do promise short lines and an engineer who genuinely knows your system.
Do you know what runs in your cloud?
If the answer is "not exactly", that is where we start. We inventory what is there and tell you honestly what is sound and what needs attention.
